About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Sand Marina is located on Spjærøy on the western side of Asmalsundet, in the middle of the Hvaler archipelago with a short distance to Koster and Fredrikstad. The marina has around 250 berths and lies well sheltered from wind and weather, with good depths of 3 metres or more, room for boats up to 80 feet, and good manoeuvring space between the piers.
Guest berths are located by the fuel pier and are marked with signs reading «Gjesteplass». There you have access to water and shore power around the clock, and fuel can be filled at the pier at any time of day. The piers otherwise have water, lighting and electricity, and there is ample parking at the facility.
The marina offers toilets with showers and waste containers. The kiosk sells ice cream, crisps and sweets along with some chandlery items, and in season also Helly Hansen life jackets. The restaurant serves a menu of tapas, pizza, main courses, salads and desserts, along with a wide selection of wine, beer and drinks.
A grocery store is a short distance away at Rød on the other side of the sound, and both north and south of Sand you'll find lovely beaches and hiking areas. There are also good bus connections onward to Fredrikstad. Berth at the guest pier by the fuel dock and enjoy the view over the Hvaler archipelago.
