Utgårdskilen Båtforening

Utgårdskilen Båtforening is located in Utgårdskilen, on the southern part of Vesterøy in Hvaler municipality, and runs the largest fishing harbour east of Lindesnes. The association has a total of 140 boat berths spread across several piers.

In summer, visiting sailors can rent a free berth in the harbour; available berths are marked with a sign, and the price is 200 NOK per night. There is also a guest harbour at the far eastern side of the breakwater.

Duty-free diesel is sold at the trawler workshop, and there is a freshwater dispenser as well as freshwater available at the piers inside the harbour. On the western side of the harbour, the municipality has installed a public toilet, and at Fjordfisk you can buy shrimp and fish products (limited opening hours outside the season).

At the western breakwater, the Utgårdskilen Velforening has set up a bathing raft and steps, and there are good hiking trails and swimming spots westwards towards Sandholmen, marked from Utgårdskilen. Moor at one of the signposted guest berths and head out onto the breakwater to enjoy the lively summer atmosphere of the harbour.
