About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Segelclub Mühlbachtal Haltern (SCMH) is a sailing club on Halterner Stausee, a reservoir of about 300 hectares with coves and open water areas that suit everything from relaxed Sunday sailing to competitive regattas. Founded in 1974 by a group of dinghy sailors, the club today sails several boat classes.
The club offers berths for boat owners, both on the water and ashore (the dinghy park), as well as the so-called Gelsenwassersteg, known as "Schwarzer Steg", where the club states there are still vacant berths. Interested sailors can get in touch to learn more about availability.
For sailors without their own boat, SCMH offers charter of the club's two boats (Varianta 65 and Dehler 22) to members and guest members, for a full or half day, through an affordable sailing flat rate. This requires at least an A sailing licence or a powerboat/inland sailing licence.
If you hold a sailing licence but have no boat of your own, get in touch with SCMH and become a guest member – the club welcomes all sailing enthusiasts on Halterner Stausee.
