About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026

Seglervereinigung Pinnau runs a very peaceful dock marina right behind the dyke on the north side of the Pinnau, where sea eagles, kites and other birds make their home. The marina is reached through a barrier lock gate about 4 m wide, which normally opens 2 hours before high water at the mouth of the Pinnau and closes again when the ebb current sets in; the gate opens automatically once the water level in the Pinnau is higher than in the harbour, and at weekends it is kept open for about 2 hours by the harbour staff. The harbour does not dry out.

The entrance has a depth of about 2.5 m, shoaling to 2.0 m further inside the harbour. Listen on VHF channel 9, and guest berths are marked at pontoon 1. According to the chart the approach channel has a charted depth of 4.2 m at MHW, and the closed swing bridge has a clearance of 6.9 m at MHW – watch the tide gauge. If the entrance to the SVP marina is closed, you can moor at a waiting berth 300 m away on the north bank of the Pinnau, with room for 4 boats.

The floating pontoons have ample power supply (230 V, 16 A), and fresh water can be taken on at the access points and at the mast crane. Bicycles are kept free of charge for guests in the tool shed by the slipway.
