About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Sand Marina is a modern marina on Spjærøy, on the west side of Asmalsundet in the Hvaler archipelago, with about 250 berths for boats up to 80 feet and good depths of 3 metres or more. The marina is under video surveillance and lies well sheltered from wind and weather, with good manoeuvring space between the pontoons.
Guest berths are located by the fuel pontoon and are clearly marked with signs, where you have access to fresh water and shore power. At the fuel pontoon you can refuel and take on water around the clock, and there is a slipway in the marina.
The marina offers toilets with showers, waste containers, and power and water at the berths. The kiosk sells ice cream, crisps, sweets and some chandlery items, while the restaurant offers snacks, pizza, main courses, salads and desserts along with a wide range of wine, beer and drinks. There is also good parking at the facility.
Sand lies in the middle of Hvaler with a short distance to Koster and the whole Hvaler archipelago, with good bus connections to Fredrikstad. Just across the sound, in Rød, you'll find a grocery store, and both north and south of Sand there are lovely beaches and walking areas. Berth at the guest pontoon, fuel up, and enjoy a pizza at the restaurant overlooking Asmalsundet.
