About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Stinesminde Havn is a small municipal harbour on the northern shore of Mariager Fjord, between Hobro and Hadsund. The harbour is described as the smallest on the fjord and has room for around 15 small boats, while the local village itself counts only 33 households. The harbour sits in the middle of an authentic fishing hamlet with a peaceful, idyllic atmosphere.
Very few visiting sailors come to Stinesminde, as there is essentially no room in the harbour, and the water depth in places is as little as half a metre, making it difficult for larger boats to dock. Instead, the harbour is a popular destination for visitors arriving on foot or by bike.
The harbour has a public toilet, and there is good parking available by the harbour. Nearby you'll also find a small self-service ice cream and fish hut, where you can buy fresh eel or flounder and enjoy your coffee with a view over the fjord.
A walk from the harbour reveals the hilly landscape along the fjord, with the path continuing towards Høllet and Kielstrup Lake as part of cycle route 32. Just 50 metres offshore lies the well-preserved Stinesminde wreck, dating from around 1618 and discovered by local divers in 1974 - a fitting attraction for the curious sailor. Tie up at this small, idyllic harbour and experience the fjord's most peaceful corner.
