About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Tilgu sadam is a small harbour in Harju County, Harku Parish, in Meriküla on the Suurupi peninsula, at the foot of the scenic Rannamõisa cliff. The harbour has four quays measuring 22, 42, 36 and 44 metres, and it only serves vessels under 24 metres in length. It is run by the association MTÜ Tilgu sadama jahtklubi and is actively used by local boat owners, jet-ski riders and recreational anglers.
The harbour is open from 1 May to 30 September every day from 8:00 to 20:00, while the harbour area and car park are open from 9:00 to 20:00. The facility is primarily intended for storing and launching small craft, and sailing courses are also held here. Swimming is only permitted in designated areas, not in the harbour basin itself.
Since 2021 the harbour has had a sadamakohvik (harbour café) as well as changing rooms for those arriving from the sea. There are berths in the water, and boats can be stored in the adjoining car park, where it is also possible to wash your boat.
Right next to the harbour lies a natural sandy shoreline with a volleyball court and pleasant picnic spots. The place is also a popular spot for winter swimmers, who call themselves the "Tilgu seals". Every year the traditional Tilgu Regatt sailing competition takes place, and on 1 August the harbour celebrates Tilgu Sadama Päev with activities for the whole family, including fishermen, sea rescue crews and the Estonian Navy.
