About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Torsvåg harbour is a small fishing harbour on the far northwestern coast of Vannøya island in Karlsøy Municipality, Troms, about 90 km northeast of Tromsø. The harbour is formed by the village on Vannøya itself and the small islet of Kåja, connected by a causeway, and breakwaters at the entrance create a snug refuge at the threshold of the open sea. Torsvåg is one of three fishing harbours on Vannøya, along with Vannavalen and Vannavåg, and there is evidence of settlement in the area since the Stone Age.
At the quay you will find the fish processing plant Torsvågbruket, where fuelling facilities are available for vessels calling in.
On Kåja, just off the harbour, stands the old Torsvåg Lighthouse from 1916 at the island's highest point, with views towards Nordkvaløya.
