About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Urnesbukta Marina is a combined leisure and fishing harbour at Amtmannsnes in Fiskerihavna in Alta, operated by Alta Havn KF, a municipal enterprise under Alta municipality. The port is part of a wider development effort, as Alta havn has received funding from Kystverket for the development of Urnesbukta fishing harbour, and increased demand for berths has led to plans for expansion of Urnesbukta, with completion in 2024.
On arrival you can moor alongside the quay or a floating dock, or anchor on a swing mooring with your own anchor. The harbour is being upgraded step by step, and Alta Havn is expanding Urnesbukta at Amtmannsnes at a cost of more than 20 million kroner.
At the berths you'll find shore power and fresh water for the boat, and the harbour area also offers parking as well as a launching ramp and slipway.
A special sight for the curious sailor is the old wooden fishing cutter M/K Vally, which has been owned by Alta inhabitants since it was built at Hemnesberget in 1917 and remains seaworthy and is currently moored at Urnesbukta on Amtmannsnes in Alta. The museum keeps a mooring site in Urnesbukta, making Vally accessible to the local community, with "Open boat" events planned during the bright summer days. Tie up in Urnesbukta and become part of a harbour in lively development, with a piece of living coastal heritage right at the quay.
