About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026

Wassersportverein Strom (WVSt) is a German sailing club with a harbour on the river Ochtum, a tributary of the Weser near Bremen. The club has 28 berths spread across three jetties: at Strom on the Ochtum, at Ochtum-Altarm and at Ochtum-Durchstich, plus a boat shed with room for 23 boats.

Navigation on the Ochtum is possible two hours before and after high tide, when the lock at the entrance is kept open. On the way to the berths at Strom, skippers pass a marked ground sill that can safely be crossed mid-channel during the stated times. The jetty at Ochtumbrücke dries out at low tide, which is not a problem for the boats moored there. At Altarm there is a small lock that boat owners operate themselves after a short briefing. The 7 berths at Spille – Zur Ochtumbrücke can also be used as guest berths.

All three facilities have shore power and fresh water, though at Altarm water must be collected by arrangement from the jetty opposite. Toilets are available in the clubhouse by the boat shed and in the club restaurant at Spille.

At Spille – Zur Ochtumbrücke you'll find the club's own restaurant, where guests are always welcome, and in fine weather the summer garden right by the Ochtum invites you to relax. Moor up at Spille and enjoy the summer garden right on the water.
