About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026

WSV de Snap is a boating club with two harbours in Hardinxveld-Giessendam: the harbour "De Knaal" at Kanaaldijk-Noord 1, just inside the Kolffgemaalsluis at the start of the Kanaal van Steenenhoek, and the harbour "Het Balkengat" on the Buiten-Giessen.

De Knaal can be reached via Gorinchem from Lingehaven, the Linge or the Merwedekanaal, or via the Kolffgemaalsluis at kilometre marker 963 on the north bank of the Beneden-Merwede. Het Balkengat is reached via the Damsluis from the Alblasserwaard or via the Peulensluis at kilometre marker 965. Just inside the lock at De Knaal lies the club's completely renovated jetty.

Het Balkengat is located almost in the heart of the municipality and is well suited for outings or shopping.

If you're sailing near Hardinxveld-Giessendam, feel free to stop by one of the two harbours.
