About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026

Yachthafen Wassersport-Gemeinschaft Konstanz-Egg is a private club marina on Lake Constance in the Egg district of Konstanz, located between the Staad ferry terminal (to Meersburg) and the island of Mainau, right next to the university's water sports facility. The marina is run by the WGE association, founded in 1969, and has capacity for up to 84 boats.

The approach course is 140°, and the entrance is marked with red-green lights. Water depth is around 1 m below normal low water at the entrance, while in the middle of the harbour it is only about 0.5 m below normal low water. The marina is well protected from almost all wind directions, with only northerly winds posing a challenge. Guest berths can be arranged with the harbourmaster, and there is a parking area directly at the pier, though it is reserved for members.

In the clubhouse, known as the 'Hüttle', you'll find toilets as well as waste disposal and emergency facilities, and there is also a newer sanitary building with showers a short walk up Bachgasse near the chapel. The key to the new facility is available from the harbourmaster. The clubhouse also has a common room with a terrace where members and visiting sailors can relax.

There is no restaurant directly at the marina, but after a 15-20 minute walk you'll reach a restaurant with a terrace and lake view along the road to the Staad ferry, as well as the 'Adler' inn in Allmannsdorf.
