About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Rufus aan het Water is a welcoming marina and farmstead set amid unspoilt nature between Langweerder Wielen and Sneekermeer, located between Joure and Sneek on the Noarder Alde Wei. Here you'll find a cosy harbour with berths for private boats and for visiting sailors.
Boats up to 1000 kg can be hoisted in and out of the water using the marina's hoist, though this is avoided during the busy season due to children playing and crowds on site. The café and the bicycle ferry operate daily from 1 May to 15 September, 9am-8pm, and from 16 September to 31 October, 9am-6pm; a ferry crossing costs €1.50 per person. Reception is located in the harbour building's office, open daily 9am-6pm.
The marina offers shore power and water for boats, plus a water pump for rinsing boats down. The harbour building has excellent sanitary facilities. Free wifi covers the whole site, and there is free parking with a charging point for electric cars. By the water there's a water playground with a balance beam, swing rope and swimming ladder, plus toys and games in the café. At the mini-campsite there is a covered fire pit free for everyone to use, and bicycles, including electric ones, are available for hire.
From here you can walk or cycle into the countryside, follow the cycling node network, or travel the 10 km to Sneek with good public transport links. Moor up at Rufus, hire a bike, and explore the unspoilt nature and nearby towns.
