About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Jachthaven Almelo Centrum is the municipal marina right in the heart of Almelo, established by the town council in April 1998. The marina has room for between 90 and 120 boats and is surrounded by apartments and shops designed in harmony with the water. Both permanent berth holders and visiting sailors can moor here.
The bridge is operated according to fixed hours: closed on weekdays between 12:00 and 12:30, open on Sundays and public holidays from 09:30-11:30 and 16:00-17:00, while outside the season (Oct-Mar) the bridge is only operated on Tuesdays and Fridays between 09:30 and 12:00 by appointment.
The historic building 'Houtstek' houses most of the facilities: toilets and accessible toilets, washbasins, showers, power connections on both the floating pontoons and the quay, a washing machine and tumble dryer, a bilge pump, and the possibility to empty a chemical toilet and take on fresh water. Access is controlled by a modern fingerprint scan system, and the entire marina is monitored by camera. There is also wireless internet provided by WifiTenne.
The marina sits right in the centre of Almelo, and from the pontoons it is only a short walk to the town's lively centre with plenty of cafés and restaurants - including a Greek restaurant housed in a former gatehouse of an old textile factory. Nearby you'll also find museums such as the De Meelpolder bakery museum, the Stadsmuseum and the small Wevershuisje weaving museum.
