About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Barockhafen Bad Karlshafen is a small historic marina with a lock, right in the baroque old town at the confluence of the Weser and Diemel rivers. The harbour reopened to boat traffic in spring 2019 after renovation and serves smaller yachts, motorboats and canoes. The harbour basin forms the town's central axis and sits directly beside the town hall.
Entry is from the Weser at river kilometre 44.6, just below the gauge house, where you must motor against the current into the canal entrance; if you have to wait, you moor at the dolphins. Lock passages are free and run daily during the season (1 April to 31 October) by arrangement with the harbourmaster. Maximum permitted boat length is 12 m, beam 6 m and draft 0.8 m. There are 17 permanent berths on the "monument side" and 15 guest berths on the town-hall side; a guest berth costs €10 per day for a boat and €5 for a canoe.
At the pontoons you'll find shore power connections and a freshwater tap, plus showers and toilets in the harbourmaster's building, where guests are given a key. There is no slipway or fuel sales in the harbour itself – for that you're referred to the MSC Weser-Diemel harbour at the Weser-Therme.
