About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Bakkerne Bådehavn is a small, privately owned harbour on Bornholm's south coast at Sømarken, south of Pedersker, with active commercial fishing. It is one of the smallest fishery harbours on the island, originally just a shelter jetty with an extension, completed in 1944 and reinforced in 1982.
The harbour is usually filled with local fishing boats, but in good weather a few small visiting boats can call at this little fishing hamlet. The water depth is only about 1 metre, so the harbour is best suited to small craft rather than deep-draught sailing yachts. Basic facilities such as water, toilet and shore power are available at the quay.
At the harbour you'll find an active herring smokehouse with an attached restaurant and kiosk, as well as bicycle rental and crazy golf. In summer there is often live music at the smokehouse, making for a pleasant evening. There is a sandy beach and swimming right by the harbour, and you can drive all the way down to the water's edge and park.
Walk 300 metres east and you'll reach the Øle Å stream; follow it further inland and you'll find a beautiful old watermill and the point 55° North/15° East, marked with a granite block. Visit this little fishing hamlet for its charm, the freshly smoked fish from Bakkarøgeriet, and the beautiful nature along the south coast.
