About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Marina Baltic Bay is located in Laboe at the mouth of the Kiel Fjord, where the fjord opens into the Bay of Kiel. The marina was completed in 2004, built by the Laboe shipyard. It offers a generous outer harbour with a water depth of 4 m below sea level, and the total of 345 luxurious berths are connected by a 280-metre pier.
You approach at a 90-degree angle from the fjord's fairway and should watch for shallow areas north and south of the harbour, as this is the second harbour in Laboe. The marina welcomes visiting yachts of up to around 30 metres in length with a maximum draft of about 4 metres.
The pontoons offer electricity and fresh water connections for the boats as well as toilets and showers, with further supply options available nearby. Right in the marina area there is a well-regarded Italian restaurant with good parking and service facilities at the entrance to the Kiel Fjord. There is also paid parking within the fenced marina grounds.
Laboe offers a long white sandy beach, an ideal bathing paradise for families with children. Besides cycling and walking, it's worth visiting the 85-metre-high Marine Memorial, Laboe's landmark, and the submarine U 995. You can also enjoy special wellness moments at Laboe's seawater swimming pool. The fjord ferry line between Laboe, Strande and Kiel provides a good connection to Kiel's city centre, with shopping, museums, exhibitions and concerts.
