Yachthafen Mönkeberg

Yachthafen Mönkeberg is run by the Wassersport-Vereinigung Mönkeberg e.V. and sits picturesquely on the eastern shore of the Kieler Förde, making it an ideal launching point for the western Baltic and a handy stopover before or after transiting the Nord-Ostsee-Kanal. The marina has three basins: boats over 8.50 m berth in the western basin, smaller craft in the middle basin, and the eastern basin suits dinghies and shallow-draft motorboats.

Free berths are marked with green signs, and berth numbers are found at the head of each pontoon. The approach comes from the south, between the mole head and the ferry landing; the mole head shows a white light at night, and the pontoons are lit. Harbour dues can be paid conveniently online via a QR code at the clubhouse, or in cash/by card with the harbourmaster, who is on site daily from 8:00-11:30 and 15:30-19:00 at the "Juliusturm". The marina is a member of the Danish Frihavn association.

Shore power, drinking water and free WiFi at every berth are included in the mooring fee, as are hot showers. Toilets and showers are located on the ground floor of the clubhouse (Vereinsheim). An oil-waste station is available by arrangement with the harbourmaster. The clubhouse's cosy bar and sun terrace, overlooking the harbour and Kiel's skyline, welcome visiting sailors, and since 2025 guests can borrow two bicycles free of charge from the harbourmaster. A barbecue area under the clubhouse terrace is also available.
