About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Sporthafen Wik is one of Sporthafen Kiel's marinas, situated south of the Kiel Canal and the Holtenau lock by the clubhouse of Seglervereinigung Kiel, right next to the home port of the training ship Gorch Fock. The marina has just under 200 water berths with 3 metres of depth and room for boats up to 14 metres, plus a small number of land berths in one harbour basin with access from the south.
Guest berths are allocated by the harbour masters on site. Prices start at €12 per day for boats up to 6 metres, rising to €75 for boats over 30 metres; after 5 full days a one-day discount applies. The harbour office is open in season, typically 08:00–17:00, while the marina is closed from 15 November to 14 March. Slight swell can occur in southeasterly winds.
The marina offers toilets, showers (token-operated), fresh water and electricity at the berth (both free), waste disposal (free), WiFi, a mast crane (€18 for guests) and a dinghy slipway. There is also a restaurant, a supermarket, and nearby access to a bank, pharmacy and post office.
Just a 1 km walk takes you into the Kiel-Wik district for supplies, or follow the scenic Förde promenade about 5 km into Kiel's city centre – round off the day at the charming beer garden in Forstbaumschulenpark right next to the marina.
