About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Capo Pino Small Harbour is a small, private harbour at Capo Pino, a district in western Sanremo on the Italian Riviera, close to the border with Ospedaletti. The harbour was built between 1952 and 1961 as part of the residential complex "Marina di Capo Pino", which besides the small harbour basin also included an artificial beach, a bathing establishment and a swimming pool.
The harbour is not operational for pleasure craft today. In 2020 the Coast Guard seized the basin, the bathing establishment and the adjoining square, and the municipality has since revoked the concession for the 12,045 square metre state-owned area. The harbour is referred to as a "porto rifugio" (refuge harbour), but has for many years been unusable and has instead been used as a beach area by residents of the adjoining apartment complex. In August 2024 the municipality closed off the entire area after technical surveys found erosion and a risk of collapse of the quay and the rocky shoreline.
Because the harbour is not functional, no information is available on the entrance channel, depths, VHF channel, guest berths or facilities for visiting boats.
Sailors should therefore avoid seeking to berth or stay overnight at Capo Pino, and instead stay informed about the municipality's plans for any future redevelopment of the area.
