About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Fingalshamn is a small excursion harbour on the eastern shore of Lake Vättern, built by Domsands Båtsällskap in 1987. The harbour lies just below Motell Västerleden (with an adjoining Preem petrol station) and serves as the club's guest harbour on the opposite side of the lake.
The sail from Domsand's home harbour to Fingalshamn is about 7 nautical miles and typically takes 1-2 hours by sailboat. The southern pier is the guest harbour, with berths of varying sizes - aim to use no more space than your boat needs. Visiting boats may not be left unattended for more than six hours, and all car traffic within the harbour area is prohibited, except for launching and hauling out.
The harbour offers a toilet and a sauna for guests; access to the sauna requires a special key, and it is closed during winter. In 1995 a hoist was installed that can lift boats up to 8 tonnes.
Right next to the harbour you'll find Motell Västerleden with its Preem petrol station, so services ashore are close at hand. Tie up at the southern pier and enjoy the peaceful setting on Vättern's eastern shore.
