About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Fredvika is a guest harbour on the eastern shore of Lake Mjøsa in Gjøvik, about 500 metres south of Skibladnerbrygga. Gjøvik Seilforening (the local sailing club) is based here, and the harbour has one pier for sailboats and one for motorboats. The basin is protected by a breakwater built from olympic stone from the Olympic Fjellhall.
Boats moor alongside the quay or at floating pontoons. Parking is available near Plantasjen or below Steinerskolen, and while you may drive down to the harbour for loading and unloading, parking itself must take place at the area above.
The harbour offers shore power, fresh water for boats, a toilet, and a playground for children, so even the youngest crew members have something to do.
Just south of the harbour, along Mjøsstranda, you'll find Friluftshuset with a sauna right by the water, and the Mjøspromenaden trail passes by on its way toward both Gjøvik town centre and the swimming area at Rambekk. It's about a ten-minute walk to central Gjøvik and the train station. Bring your boat into Fredvika and experience sailing life on Lake Mjøsa from a well-sheltered harbour with a view.
