About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026The guest harbour at Utklippan lies on Norraskär, Sweden's most south-easterly group of islands, in the middle of the Karlskrona archipelago, home to a large seal colony. The islands consist of Norraskär and Södraskär, where the lighthouse and lighthouse keeper's cottage are located.
The bottom of the harbour basin is completely flat, so anchoring is not an option – mooring here is along the quay with the long side of the boat. There are about 30 guest berths, and the depth in the harbour is around 2,5-2,8 m. Nautical charts 819 SW and 821 SE mark the position 55°57.3 N 15°42.3 E.
The harbour has a dry toilet and rubbish bins. Rowing boats are also available to borrow for trips between Södraskär, Mellanskär and Norraskär.
The lighthouse on Södraskär was built in 1840 as a combined lighthouse and fortress, while the current tower, a Heidenstam lighthouse, dates from 1870 and has been fully automated since 1972. Moor alongside the quay in this small, sheltered harbour and experience the seal colony and the historic lighthouse on this remote island in the archipelago.
