About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Galtström is a small guest harbour at the former shipping port of Utterviken on the Lubban headland, right next to the historic Galtströms bruk ironworks south of Sundsvall in Njurunda. The ironworks was founded in 1673 and operated until 1916, and the harbour itself has undergone a major renovation in recent years.
The harbour sits in a sheltered and pleasant setting with guest berths available. Water depth in the harbour is reported to range from around 2.5 to 4 metres.
The harbour offers toilets and showers, along with waste disposal and pump-out for holding tanks. There is also a washing machine and a diesel fuel pump. Going ashore, you'll find a restaurant, café, hotel and a small fish shop/grocery within walking distance.
Surrounding the harbour is the well-preserved ironworks environment with the manor house, the chapel, the smithy and the old bakehouse, where bread is still baked today. A short walk from the ironworks brings you to the Vitsand beach, with both sand and rocks. Berth at Galtström and you'll find both history and swimming within walking distance of the quay.
