About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Skatan is a small guest harbour in the old fishing village of the same name on the Njurunda coast near Sundsvall, located at the entrance to Björköfjärden, about 5 nautical miles west of Brämön. The harbour is known as one of the most visited along this stretch of coast, drawing boats from all over Sweden and occasionally from elsewhere in Europe.
The fairway leading into the harbour is marked with buoys, and the harbour offers around ten guest berths. Shore power and showers are available at the pontoons, and there is also laundry service on site.
The harbour has a well-maintained harbour cottage, a cosy summer restaurant by the water with a full licence and overnight accommodation, and a café. Right next to the jetty is a small fish smokehouse where you can buy fish, delicacies and homemade condiments, which also doubles as a small grocery store.
Skatan is a cultural gem with roots dating back to medieval times, when it was already a popular meeting place for traders. In summer, the local art gallery, Skatgalleriet, fills with exhibitions, and there are good swimming opportunities in the sheltered bay. Tie up in Skatan and experience an authentic fishing village with good dining right by the quay.
