About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Grenaa Marina is a large and welcoming guest harbour on the east coast of Djursland by the Kattegat, situated south of the entrance to Grenaa Harbour. The marina is owned by the Grenaa Lystbådehavns Fond, and anchoring loose in the harbour is not permitted. The marina is built over two artificial islands, with a small lagoon at the innermost part of the harbour, as well as good facilities for dinghies and rowers in a fitted river port. Grenaa Sejlklub, Grenaa Bådklub and Bådelauget Fornæs are based here.
The marina can be approached day and night, and the entrance is marked by a red and a green pier light flashing in sync. Watch out for the Kalkgrunden shoal northeast of the harbour, which is marked with lit buoys, be mindful of local ferry traffic, and observe the 3-knot speed limit inside the harbour basin – the coastal current also changes direction every 6 hours. It is said to be easy to find a free guest berth here.
On the pontoons you'll find electricity, fresh water and wifi, along with toilet and shower facilities and a launderette with washer and dryer. The marina also offers pump-out, diesel and petrol, a slipway and crane, plus a chandlery and boatyard services. For relaxation there's a playground and a barbecue area, and you can rent a bike to explore the surroundings. Close to the pontoons you'll find several restaurants and an ice cream kiosk, as well as grocery shopping and parking near the harbour area.
