About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026

Hafen Orth is a former fishing and trading harbour on the Baltic island of Fehmarn with 150 berths for yachts, some with up to 3.00 m draught. The marina lies on Mecklenburger, Lübecker and Kieler Bucht and is a good starting point for cruises in German and Danish waters.

A marked, dredged channel leads into the harbour, which can be entered both day and night. Large yachts can berth at the trading quay by arrangement with the harbourmaster, and guests are always welcome. Water and electricity connections are available at the pontoons.

The marina offers a crane and winter storage in halls and on open ground, bicycle rental, a playground for children, barbecue areas outdoors, wifi, and parking outdoors and in a hall. Several restaurants and cafés are located at the harbour, including Dörte's "Café am Hafen", "Quintings", the Greek "Syrtaki", "Piratennest", Café "Villa" and Hafen Imbiss "Kap Orth". The harbour also handles waste and waste oil.

Just a few metres from the pontoons lies a large, child-friendly bathing bay, and Fehmarn's beaches are known as a surfing paradise. There is a surf, sailing and kitesurfing school, plus a bus line right at the harbour. The nature reserves "Krumm Steert" and "Sulsdorfer Wyk", rich in birdlife, are nearby. The harbour has flown the Blue Flag every year since 1997. Berth at the trading quay or a green spot, and walk the short distance down to the bathing bay or in to one of the many restaurants.
