About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Hou Lystbådehavn is located in the East Jutland archipelago, close to Odder and Aarhus, and with a short sailing distance to Tunø, Samsø and Endelave. The harbour is a modern, well-maintained marina with three main piers, newly built in 2023, welcoming guest sailors alongside the permanent berths. It is also possible to rent guest berths along the roughly 300-metre-long quay. Harbour fees are paid at a vending machine by the harbour master's office, where you can also purchase a harbour card for electricity, showers, laundry and access to the slipway barrier.
The harbour's service building contains toilets and bathrooms as well as a kitchen and a laundry room with washing machines and dryers. There is free WiFi throughout the harbour, and you can borrow bicycles free of charge for a trip around the local area. By the clubhouse you'll find a covered wooden terrace with a barbecue area and a playground, where children can play while the grown-ups enjoy the view over the harbour. Diesel and petrol can be refuelled around the clock at the quay. In the centre of the marina lies Hou Værft, part of Hou Søsportcenter, which has upheld the traditional shipbuilding craft for close to 100 years.
Within walking distance of the harbour you'll find several eateries, including Vaffelhuset, Restaurant Raalingen and Hou Pizzaria og Grill, as well as a café and kiosk in the northern part of the marina.
