About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026IG Rheinhalde is a watersports association with a shared mooring facility on the Rhine, built together with Yacht Club Hörnle e.V. in 1988 at Rhine kilometre 162.5, in the tri-border area near Basel. The berths lie off the idyllic Rheinhalde shore, otherwise a private recreational area.
The association rents out guest berths through a rental agreement for a guest mooring; contact is made through the association itself. Current information on shipping closures on the Rhine is available from Revierzentrale Basel and the Rheinpolizei, and the Birsfelden lock can be reached by phone or on channel 22.
At the mooring you can grill with fellow boaters and enjoy a glass of wine to round off the day. The good water quality makes the Rhine pleasant for cooling off on hot days.
The surroundings offer boat trips along the High Rhine towards Rheinfelden or downstream through romantic Basel. The Rheinuferweg invites walks along the river, and from the top of the Hornfelsen you get a view over the mooring facility, the Birsfelden lock, Basel and across into Alsace. Tie up at the mooring and take a walk along the Rheinuferweg while enjoying the view from the Hornfelsen.
