About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Jungshoved Kirkehavn is a small, private marina by the white medieval church on Jungshoved in Smålandsfarvandet/Bøgestrømmen. The harbour consists of a southern and a northern section, only 100 metres apart, with 32 large berths plus 22 spaces for dinghies and prams. As one of the few harbours on eastern Zealand, it is fully sheltered from easterly winds.
Access is via the 12-15 m wide, 1.6 m deep, roughly 1.2 nautical mile long channel (Sukkerrenden), marked with red and green stakes during the period 1 April-15 November. Maximum draught is 1.5 m, and easterly winds can raise water levels by up to 1.0 m while westerly winds can lower them by a similar amount. The harbour can only be entered in daylight, and a 3-knot speed limit applies. Keelboats with a draught over 1.2 m should use the southern harbour. The marina is part of the Frihavn scheme.
At the pontoons you'll find 220V shore power and fresh water. The toilet is located at the western end of the thatched sexton's house. The northern harbour features a trailer ramp for launching boats.
Fuel is available in Jungshoved village, 3 km from the harbour, while provisions can be found in Præstø, 8 km away. The harbour sits below Jungshoved Slotsbanke, where the old Jungshoved Slot once stood and where the Gøngehøvding resided during the Swedish Wars – a lovely spot for a walk in nature. Tie up in this peaceful church harbour and take a stroll up to the old castle mound.
