Kaien Førde

Kaien in Førde is a guest marina and quay facility at the innermost point of Førdespollen bay, in Sveio municipality in Vestland county. The facility is linked to the Kaien AS restaurant and was fully renovated in 2012, so it today presents itself as a modern quay and harbour complex with over 80 metres of deep-water quay plus a large small-boat marina with concrete floating pontoons.

You can moor either alongside the sturdy deep-water quay, fitted with heavy bollards and a rail (fendered with tyres), or at the floating pontoons, which have cast-in mooring rings and triangle buoys. According to boaters' experience, northwesterly winds can cause some chop at the berths. The harbour has a 24-hour fuel pump offering duty-free diesel and petrol (card payment).

At the quay area you'll find several outlets for fresh water and shore power (paid). The restaurant/café/pub at Kaien serves everything from home-style cooking to finer dishes and holds a full licence to serve alcohol, so you can both eat and enjoy a drink while watching the sunset from the terrace. The harbour also has a playground, parking, a slipway, a crane/lift, and a waste container.

It's a short walk to a grocery store, and from the harbour you can set out on a pleasant nature and heritage trail through forest and countryside, including towards the Dreng viewpoint, where wooden figures carved with a chainsaw can be seen. Moor up at Kaien and enjoy both the quay, the café, and the nearby walking trails.
