About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Lyngør is a car-free island community on Norway's southern coast in Tvedestrand municipality, known for its well-preserved white wooden houses from the age of sail in the 1800s and recognized as one of Europe's best-preserved wooden communities. The small guest harbour is run by Lyngør Seilmakerverksted and is located in the characteristic "sildebu" building, which houses a sail loft, chandlery, restaurant, guest harbour and gallery.
The guest jetty is private and lies right outside Seilmakerfruens Kro; the dock was renewed in 2025. Berths cannot be reserved in advance, so it is first-come, first-served. Moor using long single springs and simple breast lines, and be considerate of other guests and neighbours - quiet hours apply in the harbour from 23:00. The harbour fee is paid unprompted (including via Vipps), and upon payment or presenting a receipt you receive a code for the facilities.
At the jetty you will find shore power (for charging only), fresh water, showers, toilets and waste bins. Fuel is also available, along with a playground for children. In the Skipshandelen chandlery on the second floor you can buy boat gear, clothing, footwear and the locally sewn sailcloth products.
Right by the jetty is Seilmakerfruens Kro serving food, and you find yourself in the midst of the idyllic, car-free wooden village with its maritime atmosphere and bustling summer life. Tie up at the kro's jetty and experience one of the most atmospheric outharbours on Norway's southern coast.
