About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Oreby Bro is a small, somewhat dilapidated bulwark by Orebygaard Castle on the north shore of Sakskøbing Fjord on Lolland, with room for only one or two visiting boats at a time.
The approach is directly from the unlit fairway of Sakskøbing Fjord, and arrival is only recommended during daylight. Outside the fairway you must expect half-rotten piles that can damage a pleasure craft, and at the bulwark itself the water depth is around 1.3 metres. You should not raft up here, since the narrow waterway passes close by the bulwark and strong currents can occur in strong winds.
There are no utilities or sanitary facilities at this scenic mooring spot.
From the water and from the shore path north of the jetty you can enjoy the view of Orebygaard Castle's Renaissance-style building. Between the manor and the few moorings stand five buildings about 100 metres from the jetty — two old packing houses, a barn, a residential house and Oreby Kro, where it is said you can dine excellently, and where the inn's garden overlooking the fjord has a children's playground. Signs make clear, however, that it is not appreciated for yachts to stay moored at the bridge for longer periods — so best enjoy the peaceful idyll during a brief stop on your way through the fjord.
