About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Ringkøbing Harbour is a cosy fjord harbour in the northern part of Ringkøbing Fjord. The harbour is owned by Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality and consists of four basins – Ny Havn, Gamle Havn, Marinaen and Jollehavnen – used by both net fishermen and recreational sailors. The harbour is also home to a sailing club, a fjord swimming club and a motorhome pitch.
Access is via the Kammersluse lock at Hvide Sande and then across the fjord along a roughly 20 m wide, 0.6 nautical mile channel with a depth of 2.5 metres. The maximum vessel size permitted is 100 m in length, 15 m in beam and 2.5 m draught, and a 3-knot speed limit applies within the harbour. Guest berths are typically found in Marinaen, where depth decreases from 2.5 m at the front to just 1 m at the back, while Gamle Havn has more than 2.5 m throughout. No fixed red/green vacancy markers are used, so guests should ask the harbourmaster or check locally for a free berth. The harbour participates in the Danish 'frihavn' scheme, with a guest fee of around 150 DKK per night with an overnight stay and 60 DKK without.
Electricity points on the pontoons are operated by payment card at the payment point by the red public toilet behind the clubhouse car park. The harbour crane is used to lift leisure boats out for winter storage.
