About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Segelclub Insel Poel SCIP runs the idyllic club harbour in Kirchdorf on Insel Poel, in the north of Kirchsee, right next to the fishing and sport boat harbour. The marina has both a floating pontoon and a fixed jetty, mostly berthing local boats, but offers 10 guest berths by arrangement with the harbourmaster. Approach is possible day and night. Water depth is about 2 metres, berths have variable widths up to 4 metres, and the floating pontoon suits boats with up to 2 metres draught; near the fixed jetty it gets shallower towards shore. The harbour offers toilets and showers, power and water connections on the pontoons, a slipway, a barbecue area, a clubhouse, and parking. Chandlery and boat repair services are available at the neighbouring fishing and sport boat harbour in Kirchdorf. Kirchdorf, the island's main town, lies northwest of the harbour with cosy old streets, restaurants, cafés and shops, plus a local history museum and remains of the castle rampart by the church – the 47-metre-high island church dating from the 13th century is a landmark visible from afar. Right by the harbour you can buy fresh fish from the fishermen, and there's a small snack stand directly at the marina. Bus line 430 runs to and from Wismar, which can also be reached by excursion boat from Kirchdorf. Berth at the club harbour's guest berth and walk the short distance into Kirchdorf's old streets and its 47-metre church tower.
