About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Vänersborg's Guest Harbour & Marina is a full-service marina at the gateway to lake Vänern, situated right in the town of Vänersborg with around 150 berths; the harbour holds the international Blue Flag environmental award.
Contact the lock and bridge keeper on VHF channel 9. Guest berths are offered alongside or with mooring lines, and the harbour is very close to the travel centre with train, bus and taxi.
The harbour has electricity and water at the berths, a fuel berth with sewage pump-out, and a service building. There is also access to a laundry room, showers and wifi, and a boat accessory shop is located in the same premises as the guest harbour office. The harbour also has a boat ramp and a boat lift/mast crane. In summer you can rent bicycles and canoes, and there is parking for motorhomes. On the quay you can buy simple refreshments such as ice cream, coffee and drinks, while larger grocery stores are within a few minutes' walk, and there is also a restaurant nearby.
Just a few minutes' walk from the guest harbour you'll find Vänersborg town centre with popular attractions such as Park Skräcklan, Vänersborg's Museum and the Water Palace. The town is surrounded by magnificent nature with hiking trails, and history enthusiasts can explore local sights, while nature lovers can book a guided moose safari at Halle- and Hunneberg. The harbour makes a natural stop on the way to or from the Dalsland Canal, Säffle Canal or Göta Canal.
