About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Vänersborg's Guest Harbour and Marina is a large, well-organised guest harbour at the southern tip of Lake Vänern, right in the town centre, serving as a full-service marina at the gateway to the lake.
The harbour lies behind a breakwater, which normally gives good shelter, and works well both as a service and refuelling stop on the route between Lake Vänern, the Dalsland Canal and the Göta River, and as a base for exploring the town – it is only a short walk to the centre, pedestrian streets and restaurants.
On site you'll find a laundry room, showers and WiFi. Bicycles are available for hire (seven in total), along with canoe and boat rentals, and there is a chandlery attached to the harbour office. You can refuel your boat, stock up on food, and there is parking, including spaces for motorhomes.
A short distance away lies the large park Skräcklan, with swimming spots, playgrounds and a summer café, as well as Vänersborg's Museum. The town is nicknamed "Little Paris" after the poet Birger Sjöberg, and the harbour holds Blue Flag certification. Tie up at this welcoming guest harbour and enjoy both the lively town and the calm of the park.
