About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026

Søby Harbour lies at the north-western tip of Ærø and is a combined fishing, industrial and marina harbour. The harbour consists of three basins – a shipyard area to the west, a fishing and ferry harbour to the south-east, and the marina itself to the east. The old fishing harbour is now used for guest berths, and there are usually good chances of finding a free spot.

There are no payment machines on the jetties – instead, a harbour collector visits every morning and evening to settle harbour dues, and you can pay in cash in both DKK and EUR as well as by card. For boats up to 9 metres, the guest berth price has been around 160 DKK per night.

The marina offers shore power, fresh water, toilets and showers, plus a washing machine. There is also fuel and a slipway. By the marina you'll find green areas with tables and benches as well as a barbecue area with a kitchen, and right next to it a very popular playground. On the harbour front you can eat at the restaurant, and the town also has a fast-food place and a café, while the Dagli'Brugsen grocery store sits right by the quay, making provisioning easy.

East of the harbour lies a family-friendly sandy beach with a bathing jetty, and the small town around the harbour is a cosy place to explore.
