About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Sporthafen Stickenhörn lies at the mouth of the Kiel Canal near Kiel and is a popular destination for both visiting yachtsmen and canal-bound boats. The marina has just under 500 water berths with depths of 3-7 metres and room for boats up to 20 metres, plus a few land berths. The harbour basin is entered from the south and is sheltered from all wind directions, with many floating pontoons.
Approach is via the unlit east cardinal buoy "Stickenhörn Ost", from which you sail directly towards the entrance; entry is straightforward day and night, but watch out for large commercial shipping traffic. Guest berths are allocated exclusively by the harbourmasters on site. A guest berth costs from €12.00 per day for boats up to 6 metres, rising to €75.00 for boats over 30 metres; after five full days a one-day discount applies. Power, water and waste disposal are free for guests. The slipway costs from €12.00 and use of the mast crane €18.00 per lift.
The marina offers toilets, showers (with tokens), drinking water and power at the berths, waste disposal, a mast crane, a slipway, a coin laundry, a playground, wifi, rental bikes, a restaurant and workshops for engines and marine electronics. Two boatyards with slips lie north of the harbour.
The district of Pries-Friedrichsort, with all shopping facilities including a supermarket, is a 15-minute walk away.
