About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Stavreby Havn is one of Denmark's smallest fishing harbours, located on the Jungshoved peninsula southeast of Præstø. The harbour is owned by the local boat association and today mainly serves as the home port for the association's members, following the recent ban on the last commercial fishermen practising their trade there.
The approach should only be attempted in daylight, as the harbour can be tricky to enter – the channel is marked with red and green stakes, but there is shallow water outside the markers, so it is important to follow them closely. A speed limit of 3 knots applies inside the harbour basin.
A slipway can be used for a small fee, and parking is available on the harbour grounds, which are managed by Vordingborg Municipality.
During summer, the mail boat Røret sails between Nyord and Stavreby, and from the harbour you can walk a scenic trail through the Bøget forest on Jungshoved, where seals can sometimes be spotted along the coast towards Ulvshale-Nor. Come and discover this small, atmospheric fishing harbour and its surroundings for yourself.
