Twiske Haven

Twiske Haven is located on the Stootersplas lake in the Het Twiske nature area, close to the city yet surrounded by a fully enclosed, quiet stretch of water with no through boat traffic. Only electric motors are permitted, combustion engines are banned, creating a peaceful setting for nature lovers and sailors with open sailing boats, rowing boats or whisper boats up to 6.5 metres long and 2 metres wide.

The marina has no fence and is freely accessible. Boats can be kept ashore and/or in the water for part of the year; if you keep a trailer ashore as well as a berth in the water, this counts as two spaces. The lake is only navigable in the middle and along the larger northern branch, while the smaller side creeks have become very shallow and are only accessible by canoe or water bike. There is no connection to surrounding waters, though boats can be transported onward by trailer.

At the marina you'll find a restaurant with a bar serving local specialities, beer from Bird Brewery, and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes. Free wifi is available on site. Parking in the area is paid, and an annual permit can be obtained from Recreatieschap Twiske-Waterland.

Moor up at the Stootersplas, enjoy the calm of the motor-free water, and round off the day with a bite to eat on the restaurant's terrace.
