About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Sporthafen Stickenhörn lies at the exit of the Kiel Canal in Kiel, in a quiet corner of the fjord away from road traffic. The marina has just under 500 water berths with 3-7 m depth and room for boats up to 20 m.
Entry is made from the unlit east cardinal buoy 'Stickenhörn Ost', and it's possible to enter both day and night, though you should watch for the heavy commercial shipping traffic from the canal. Guest berths are assigned by the harbourmasters on site. Prices start from €12.00 per day for boats up to 6 m, and after 5 full days a discount of one day is given.
The marina offers toilets, showers, drinking water and electricity at the berths (both free of charge), waste disposal, a mast crane, a slipway for dinghies, a coin-operated laundry, WiFi and a playground. There is a restaurant within the harbour area, and rental bikes are available for getting to Pries-Friedrichsort. Two boatyards with slipways lie north of the marina.
The district of Pries-Friedrichsort, with all shopping facilities, is a 15-minute walk away. Kiel city centre is 25 minutes away by bus lines 12/13, and in summer a ferry runs from Friedrichsort, a 15-minute walk from the harbour. Berth at Stickenhörn and walk the 15 minutes into Pries-Friedrichsort, or enjoy a picnic at the tip of the mole overlooking the shipping traffic on the Kieler Förde.
