About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Ytterland Småbåtforening operates a small-boat harbour at Ytterland on Valderøya, by the bridge leading on to Skjongholmen and Giske. The harbour is run by a boat owners' association, primarily for residents of Giske municipality, and currently has a waiting list for new members wanting a permanent berth.
The main pier is a modern concrete pontoon of the "rennebrygge" type, supplied by Marina Solutions and installed in April 2021. It is 110 metres long and 2.7 metres wide. The harbour's history dates back to the late 1980s, when the area was cleared after having been used to store tunnel spoil during the Ellingsøy–Valderøy tunnel construction; the first pontoon sections were laid out in December 1989, and the association in its current form was founded in 2000.
The association offers a slipway for boats up to 10 tonnes, and the clubhouse can be rented out for private events.
