About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026Mårup Harbour is a cosy and intimate marina in the north-western corner of Samsø, surrounded by the hilly landscape of Nordby Bakker. The harbour lies in Mårup Vig facing the Kattegat (chart 112, 55°56.2'N 10°33.1'E) and, despite modern expansion, has retained its peaceful atmosphere. The harbour has around 4,500 guest visits per year.
The largest ships that can enter the harbour have a length of 40 m, a beam of 5 m and a draft of about 2.6 m. The difference between mean high and low tide is 0.4 m, and storms can add up to 0.9 m of extra high or low water. In offshore winds, good anchorage can be found at Sælvig and Mårup Vig. Diesel can be taken on by arrangement with the harbour master, usually between 8-9 a.m. The harbour master's office is open 8-10 a.m., and in high season marina services can be reached from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The harbour has a café and a sailors' lounge, and bicycles can be rented for exploring the surrounding area. There is access to showers, and a slipway allows boats to be launched. A boat to Tunø can be chartered from the harbour.
The harbour is about 2 km from the town of Mårup, which has a DagliBrugs grocery store. Nordby Bakker, with its views and hiking trails, is close by, as is a beach near the harbour, a hairdresser 3 km away, and a bus connection 2.4 km from the harbour.
