About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Østerby Havn is a combined fishing harbour and marina on the north coast of Læsø in the northern Kattegat. The harbour was established in 1905 and expanded in 1933 and 1983, and the marina offers berths for around 220 boats spread across five jetties.
The harbour can be navigated by vessels up to 50x12 metres with a maximum draft of 3.5 metres, and electricity and water are available at all berths in the marina.
At the harbour you'll find showers, toilets, a laundry room, a playground and several barbecue spots with tables and benches. There's a grocery store close to the jetties and a restaurant in the harbour area, and the Østerby Skibsværft shipyard is also based here. There is also a modern slipway with room for five vessels.
It's within walking distance of one of Læsø's best beaches, right next to the marina. The fishing harbour itself buzzes with activity, with cutters landing langoustine, and it hosts both a harbour festival and the annual Læsø langoustine festival. Moor up in Østerby and experience the special mix of a lively fishing community and relaxed island atmosphere close to water and beach.
