About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Vesterø Havn is Læsø's first harbour, built in 1872 and continuously expanded since. It is the island's largest harbour, serving as the ferry port for the Læsø ferries, a fishing harbour, and a large modern marina with room for around 250 boats. The marina and fishing harbour lie towards the town, sheltered by an inner mole, and the two basins are separated by a middle mole with a service building and seating areas.
Guest fees (2024, excluding electricity) start at 220 DKK per night for boats up to 12 metres, rising to 700 DKK for boats over 30 metres. A large share of the harbour's quay space is reserved for visiting yachtsmen, who in high season often raft up in several rows. Payment is handled through a user-friendly digital payment system.
Electricity and water taps are available at the berths, and in 2024 the harbour installed a new high-capacity wifi system. The service buildings house toilets, showers and a laundry, and there are plenty of cosy nooks close to the boats. Permanent berth holders can arrange crane service for winter haul-out, and at the old slipway and smithy, boats and fishing cutters are serviced by the island's maritime businesses. Bike rental is available near the harbour, and there is also the option to grill right on the quay.
On Havnebakken sits a popular restaurant, where locals and visitors gather on bright summer evenings to enjoy the sunset over the Kattegat.
