About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Olympiahafen Schilksee is a modern marina from 1972 on Kiel Bay, 10 km north of Kiel city centre, and hosts the Kieler Woche as well as numerous World and European sailing championships. The harbour has two basins with entrances from the south - a northern basin with floating pontoons and a southern one with fixed jetties - offering around 850 water berths and 400 land berths, with 3-4 m depth and a maximum boat length of 25 m. The marina is sheltered from all wind directions and can be entered day or night; at night, navigate towards the Strander Bucht light in its white sector until the lit entrances become visible. Guest berths are allocated exclusively by the harbourmasters on site, with prices starting from €12.00 per day for boats up to 6 m; after 5 full days a one-day discount applies. The marina offers toilets, showers, drinking water and power at the berth (electricity, water and waste disposal are free of charge), plus a pump-out point for chemical toilets at Hafenvorfeld Mitte. There is a mast crane (€18.00 for guests), a car-accessible slipway, a coin-operated laundry, a row of shops with chandlery and sailmaking services, a restaurant, a supermarket and WiFi. A large playground and white Baltic Sea beaches on both sides of the harbour make it ideal for families. Kiel city centre is 40 minutes away by bus or ferry, and a golf course is nearby.
