About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026

Oskarshamnsvarvet is a Swedish shipyard located on the south side of the harbour in Oskarshamn, by the entrance to the town. The yard was established in 1863 and has launched about 500-550 ships over the years. Today it operates as a repair and maintenance yard under the name Eurosteel Oskarshamn, after investment company Lazarus took over the business from the Dutch Damen Shipyards Group in 2023.

The yard specialises in the repair and maintenance of vessels of up to 80 metres and has since 1863 built, repaired and maintained substantial parts of the Swedish coastal fleet. In addition to a floating drydock, the yard has a slipway with a 100-tonne gantry crane, and it also carries out industrial work such as crane assembly and the manufacture of special-purpose containers.
