About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026

Ribe Harbour is Ribe Sailing Club's marina in Denmark's oldest town, with facilities both at Ribe Kammersluse, where the Ribe River flows into the Wadden Sea, and inside the town itself. The harbour is run by Ribe Sejlklub, which also operates the lock at Kammerslusen on behalf of the municipality.

The entrance to Kammerslusen is marked with poles all the way and easy to navigate at high tide; at normal low tide, boats with a draught of 40-50 cm can just pass through. To reach all the way into the harbour in the town itself, your boat should have a maximum draught of around 1 metre, and there is a speed limit of 3 knots along the river. The sailing club is part of the Freeport scheme, so guest sailors can obtain a free stay by arrangement, and on weekdays between 1 April and 30 September there is also free passage through the lock during a three-hour window.

The harbour has undergone a major renewal of its pontoons: around 550 metres of new floating berths have been installed with connections for both water and electricity. At the sailing club's boat area at Slotsbanken there is also a slipway for launching. Nearby you'll find Restaurant Kammerslusen, where you can enjoy lunch, coffee and cake, or dinner with a view over the embankment.
