About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Vemmenæs Anløbsbro is a small municipal harbour on the east coast of Tåsinge by Siø Sund, owned by Svendborg Municipality and run by Vemmenæs Bådelaug. The harbour was once a busy ferry port with a crossing to Rudkøbing until 1960, and today consists of two boat jetties on the east side of the landing pier, protected by breakwaters to the south and east.
The harbour can only be entered in daylight, the entrance is unmarked, and there are rocks in the area. Depth in the entrance is about 2.0 m, while depth at the berths varies from around 1 m at the northern T-jetty to 1-1.5 m at the southern jetty. A speed limit of 3 knots applies in the harbour basin. Visiting sailors pay harbour dues according to boat length, starting from 40 DKK per night for vessels up to 5.2 m.
The harbour has a slipway for launching and hauling out boats. Beyond that, facilities are limited – provisions and fuel must be sourced in Rudkøbing or Svendborg, where repair services are also available.
The surroundings offer a peaceful, scenic setting. Bus connections, a cafeteria and a campsite are found about 3 km away, and nearby stands a memorial for English pilots who crashed during World War II. If you wish to explore further, Valdemar's Castle makes an obvious destination. Tie up in this small, authentic harbour and enjoy the tranquillity of Tåsinge's east coast.
